The LCT Centre has its origins as a research centre created at the University of Sydney in April 2016. The Centre Director is Professor Karl Maton. The LCT Centre develops cutting-edge new concepts and methods in the approach and provides support for the international community of LCT scholars and practitioners. The Centre hosts the Routledge book series on Legitimation Code Theory and offers free online seminars, workshops, supervisions and the LCT jazz café.
